King's Kids Challenge

King's Kids Challenge

King's Kids Challenge is a program, comparable to Christian boy-scouts, which was started about 2 years ago. As boys usually like to do outdoor activities and to improve and use their practical skills, as well as to explore their limits and to learn from nature, King’s Kids Challenge offers an attractive way of learning a lot about one's character and personality, about nature and the most important, about God.

Especially while being in nature, we find many examples and ways to teach the Word of God in a visual, memorable and exciting way. Often the participants can even experience spiritual principles by themselves. Nearly in every meeting, the group goes to a nearby forest to make some fire, use some tools, hike, learn about orientation, how to build a bivouac, first aid etc. From time to time, there are also trips or short camps. In one meeting, we made fire and melt wax in order to make torches with a wooden stick and peaces of cloth. In the next meeting, the boys were motivated to do a silent march in the darkness, while the question was asked if they really trust Jesus. Later as they lit their torches, we could talk about being a light in the darkness of the world.

One of the aims of King’s Kids Challenge is to show young men that having fun and living a holy life can go hand in hand. Another purpose is to sharpen their minds and spirits in order for them to understand basic principles and to be able to realize the things that are really important in life. As King’s Kids Challenge offers an alternative to computer-games and television, it is strongly based on community and fellowship in a small group. The King’s Kids Challenge team splits into two age groups: grades 4-6 and 7-9 with 6 children at the most in each team. They meet once every two weeks on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 - 6 o'clock.

After months physically apart, we finally had the chance to have a  King’s Kids camp at Abu Naeem’s land with the Youth. Themed “Christmas in August''- redirecting our eyes at the salvation that has come and that is yet to come, inspired by the verses in Luke 2:30- 32- when Simon saw the baby Jesus he said: “For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”  Along with Special times of worship, quiet time, prayer for the nations , ministry including fun times of fellowship  and games. Our Goal and our prayer is for the youth to truly experience the goodness and salvation of the Lord even through hard times, suffering and pain. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7   A family that prays together, stays together…. Not just a saying, but a truth. This annual family encouragement day was geared towards families from the whole body of Christ, families that know the constant need to be encouraged, families that believe in the power of prayer.
