Much happened during the prison visits in December and January - here is an update from Anis and Nawal

Dear Prayer warriors,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now....

The home phone rang at 7:00 a.m. I ran to answer. It’s the day we thought we would sleep late, after a whole month of preparing Bibles and books in different languages, booklets and Christian materials then waking up very early, to prepare some food for us and for those who serve with us, going into prisons. We would mostly leave home at around 6:00 a.m. or sometimes earlier to get 8:30 to our destination. Trusting the Lord for good results we visited inmates from Christian background in 20++ prisons all around the country.

“Is Abu Naeem (Anis) there”? the voice asked.

I recognized the voice. It’s “K”, a prisoner whom we visited the day before.

Anis took the phone and before even greeting “K” good morning he heard:

“I can’t wait. I couldn’t sleep the whole night. I need to tell you what happened to me tonight. Jesus spoke to me. He really spoke to me tonight”

How?? What happened?? Anis asked as his face shone and his voice sounded very enthusiastic.

“Through HIS word: “For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

I’ve been prayerfully reading Matthew 11 where you taught us yesterday. I told Jesus that I want to come to him with my burdens. I continued reading till Chapter 12 where verse 8 clicked in my mind. I don’t know what happened but I know that I believe now, Jesus is the Son of God. He really is. Please tell Nikolay and my ex - room partner. Let them rejoice with me. I want all of you to know there’s fruit for your labor with me. I want to sit with you soon. There is so much to talk about.”

This particular prisoner had long arguments with Anis & Nikolay about Jesus being Son of God. No matter what scriptures they showed him he still wouldn’t be convinced.

The Lord sent him a room partner who accepted the Lord as his savior and started growing in Faith and sharing his belief, deliverance from previous difficult experiences and his daily devotions. This roommate was even released before seeing a result of his efforts with “K”.

But in the Lord’s timing, the Holy Spirit touched “K’s” heart and shook all his inner being, through the above scripture that we never quoted for him.

“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” 1 Cor. 3:7

Few days later, K was given few hours to be free and join his wife and family. He phoned and invited us to visit him. He spoke boldly in front of all his relatives who came to see him:

“Jesus is the Son of God”
